§ 17.5-24. Intent.

In order to accomplish the purposes set forth in section 17.5-23, it is the intent of this chapter:

(1)

To direct development and redevelopment in the city in accordance with the goals, objectives, and policies of the comprehensive plan;

(2)

To encourage the orderly layout and appropriate use of land through a consistently applied subdivision procedure;

(3)

To maintain or improve the quality of development and redevelopment of land through engineering and design standards;

(4)

To provide for the fair and expeditious administration of this chapter through a cooperative and coordinated review process.
